adressing target 2

I feel that i have achieved my second target as in my second VIMA assessment I achieved a grade B for my analysis of a TV drama, So therefore by achieving a B I obviously used more in depth evidence and explanation.

OVER BLACK
We hear dramatic music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tYhrPeHmY0), We start the track at 37 seconds as this part is fading in  so will work well with the fade in of the titles and credits.  It also gives enough time for the music  to pick up at 48 seconds and add more atmosphere to the start.

This music is suitable for our opening as we are following conventions and challenging them too, so in this piece the beat drops and changes from orchestral to a modern style beat. We want the film to make the audience feel anxious and hooked from the start, also so they can easily see the twist on the conventions (of which we did) that are associated with the gangster genre. This helps represent what we want the audience to feel as we are adding a new twist to a respected genre.BLACK FRAME

Treatment rewrite

Sex, Money, Murder

An origional screenplay by
SRS

9th December 2010

SRS pesents a gangster film about the life of a female gangster rising to power who teams up with other ganglords and hit men to take control of English streets and to prove the best man for the jobis a woman.

As the story unfolds the main character is presented as a innocent woman but turns out to be the killer of many notorious gang bosses by seducing and then murdering them, inching her way to the top of the gang business to control the streets. Building her rep, fame and fortune.

through the build up of gaining power and fortune, and recruitment of more members, the gangs across london are having turf wars to try and regain the power from Maria (main character). As she attemps to work her way up and control the whole gangster business.

Think the Godfather meets Sex and the city.

Our production company plans to challenge the typical conventions of gangster films, in order to do this we will be creating a female character to rise to have power insead of a man, and also to follow some conventions to help make the film successful. Our targeted audience wil be composed of primarily males aged from 18-21.

Audience Research Summary

1. In conclusion to the answers we collated from people taking the survey we designed, we can expect that men watch more films than women, the average age for the survey takers was 16-18 and their favourite genres were; comedy, action, horror, gangster/crime. They find that when watching a film to make it interesting they have to have a good storyline. And they often are willing to spend from £8 -£10 on DVDs.

2. Our target audience would be Males from 18 to 25 years of age.

3. To capture our target audience in the opening sequence we will use action to keep them enticed, as we found that in our research that action and storyline were the most frequent answers, we will also have some dramatic music to build tension whilst the opening credits to keep the audience hooked and interested in the film.

4. We found that we collected some good research on our audience, but we could find out some more intricate aspects of them like what type of gangster film they like (English/American, heist or rise to power).
